Cloth used as an integral part for stability, gaps only acceptable. ![]() The Studio laptop however, doesn't feel very premium at all. Most premium feeling I ever had with a laptop. I always liked my SB keyboard being cool, as long as the GPU doesn't kick it. Combine that with the fact that the processor is now in the base and the entire base heats up hard, that will also make working in a lap not nice. The heat is getting pumped out to the sides, meaning if you want to use a mouse next to your laptop, your hands will sweat hard. Working on my lap is making me feel uncomfortable (was never a problem on my SB), plus the fan design/placement is just odd. It doesn't feel like an ultrabook anymore. Plus the display resolution has become much smaller (it's not crisp anymore, it's just mediocre), it doesn't have true HDR as advertised (can't be activated in settings to play HDR videos in browser or else), plus the base is just big. The tablet function is gone now, I loved using my SB on the couch browsing the web without the keyboard base and it's weight. Some dudes here on this sub claimed it's because of the stress on the cloth hinge, and when it "de-stressed" - but srsly, if it's so under stress from day one, that it makes strange sounds, does that sound like something that will hold for years to come? ![]() Keyboard is a massive step back, the inner second hinge feels wobbly, I don't trust that to hold for years, plus the inner hinge creaked whenever I put it in tablet mode (180° turn) from day one. I tried the Studio Laptop out, compared it with my SB 3, and wasn't impressed.
